Print marketing materials can be an effective component of your marketing mix. While most education marketing professionals agree that large, multiple-page brochures are not effective in our fast-paced, at-a-glance world, metrics prove that concise, eye-catching collateral pieces are an essential part of a successful marketing strategy and plan.

When producing your collateral piece, there are a number of elements to include to maximize your potential for creating brand awareness and securing new business. The elements outlined here can help you see a marked difference in the impact of your overall marketing efforts.

1. A Captivating Logo

Have a qualified graphic designer create a memorable, distinctive, and thought-provoking logo that well represents your business or product. Keep in mind that the logo should quickly communicate your key company values and reproduce well when used small and on the Internet. Don’t pack too much into the logo – let other marketing messages carry some of the detail.

2. Clear Call to Action (CTA) and Complete Contact Information

Make it easy for your customers. Tell your customers how to take the next step and optimize your opportunities for communication by providing a toll-free number, local business number, as well as e-mail addresses, web addresses, and business listings that are pertinent to your market. Driving leads can be as simple as providing that clear CTA and multiple ways to reach you.

3. A Balance of Used and Unused Space

Sometimes, less is more. Remember, white space is essential to bring attention to the other elements on the page. Each page of your marketing materials should include a careful balance of white space and design elements. This means you shouldn’t overload your brochure, business card, or flyer with information and graphics. Remember, also that the back page of a print piece is an impressionable piece of real estate, so use that page effectively.

4. Social Media Logos

Today, companies must stay up-to-date with social media platforms, so you should always showcase the logos of the platforms you use in your print marketing materials to connect with your customers across your brand’s public presence. Remember to keep these platforms updated so you can answer customer concerns in a timely manner.

5. Testimonials

Once you receive positive customer feedback, use it by displaying customer testimonials in your marketing collateral. Potential customers believe their peers, so use every great quote to tell readers what you want them to know about your product or service.
